i searched to see if this link had been previously used but it didn't turn up
https://www.theepochtimes.com/the-moral ... 63983.html
If you juxtapose the current headline story of the student from Virginia who was apparently murdered in NYC by a 13 year old with the linked story, it shows the absurdity the position that our politicians are trying to place us in
The link establishes that self-defense is not a U.S. "thing" or even a Western thing. The argument that we live in different times is a bogus as the rest of excuses that the politicians use.

This article explains why I think any politician who wants to enact gun control is evil.
In certain extreme situations, the law is inadequate. In order to shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law to pursue a natural justice.

Thank you for posting that article. It is excellent information, and a reminder of why I need to check Epoch Times more often.

Re: Moral Right to Self-Defense
I was trying to find an ebook by the same author. I haven't done so yet, locating only the hardback.
But the search turned up this:
https://www.uml.edu/News/stories/2011-1 ... lling.aspx
which is interesting and poses a completely different thought: does an individual have the right to protect society.
The argument is the one that we constantly face - protection of society is the sole responsibility of the government. It would be interesting to ask the follow up question: based on what? The Constitution is an agreement by the governed but it does not include that responsibility anywhere. Neither is a natural thing which occurs.

Re: Moral Right to Self-Defense
That is a good read. For me it backs up my assertion that our founding fathers meant for the second amendment to allow us the ability to resist government tyranny as much as for self defense. To be honest, our government scares me far more than the threat of any single criminal. They are well on the way to exercising supreme power over all of us already. The armed citizens are the only thing stopping them at this point.
