January 23, 1855 the birthdate of John Moses Browning, brilliant designer of dozens of guns, including the M1911 pistol, Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR), and the venerable M2 .50 Caliber Machinegun.

Don't forget, today is also the birthday of John Hancock and Richard Dean Anderson (MacGyver / Gen. Jack O'Neill).
