After 100's of searches....looking for clarity "School

In regards to "school sponsored activities"...if my daughter plays club, recreational, or city sponsored sports...soccer, cheerleading, etc. at a college or school like UTD, Richland College, in the outdoor sporting fields is that considered school sponsored if the school or district allows/gives permission to the sports association or is paid for the use of their fields?

What about if the activity takes place within the school gymnasium or other building....after school hours? or on the weekend?

My CHL instructor said that carry would be allowed in that situation (outdoors)....but im still unsure...your thoughts?

The question is; Is CHL carry illegal at a school grounds where a non-school activity is being conducted?

Like if little league is allowed to play on a college field?

Carry would be legal in that situation.

Inside the school would be illegal.

I guess my confusion was around the word "sponsored"....if little league pays the school for the use of the fields or gives permission....does that constitue sponsored?

or do you still believe carry would be permitted?

I was thinking about this today. What does sponsored mean? What if the school agrees to let someone setup a stand to collect canned goods? What if the school provided funds for this to happen?

I'd assume a ball game with the school's baseball team is a school sponsored event, but what about practice? I think so.

So what does it come down to, the school endorses it, pays for it, provides space for it, tolerates it?

No need to overthink it. It if is a school event. The High School baseball team practicing IS a school sponsered. A tennis-club that is not UIL or run/controlled by the school having a match on the tennis courts of the school is not, even of they pay a fee for its use.

high school, collegiate, or professional sporting event or interscholastic events are the only prohibited places. Little League, Peewee football, etc., are not on the list.
