Glock 22 recon With warranty night sight, 3 mags, 349.00

Post by lawrnk »

This seemed like a good deal and I am thinking about buying one. I cannot tell what generation it is. Anyone know?

The gun pictured on the gunbroker site is a 2nd Generation Glock.

Below is a great reference for future use. Take care.

Looks like a Gen 2 i.e. checkering on the front strap but no finger molds.

What do you fellows thing about the price?
I know a new gen 3 is about 500, plus 40 for tax, 80 for night sights, then 20 for the 3rd mag. 640 vs 349? Is that much difference in the generations?

The only big differences are:

2nd gen has no finger grooves

2nd gen has no accessory rail

2nd gen requires that you order some of the parts specifically for it (locking block, slide-stop lever)

I actually prefer the 2nd gen and have owned that exact gun in the past. The price is excellent and the gun will serve you well

Thanks for that advice Jbirds. Is it difficult to add a light to the 2nd gen? I want to use it for bed side home defense.

You are saying I will need to oder a locking block and slide stop lever, or are you just recommending those upgrades?

I am not sure how you would add a light. If a light is something you desire, I would purchase a 3rd gen.

I was only speaking of spare parts. Just be aware that if you break something on the gun, the parts might not be exactly the same as what is currently offered on the market. Places like LoneWolf distrubuting have all of the 2nd gen parts you could ever want.

I really appreciate the advice and am going to go ahead and buy. The price seems like a steal and I am going to beg Mark to "cherry pick" one for me.

Mark emailed me some updates to his deals!!

I have factory used guns 3rd gen G22's with night sights and 3 mags for $375. There are new guns for $459 or I have the guns marked IDP (returned to glock for a PD misspelling) that are new with Trijicon night sights and 3 mags for $469.

Thanks
Mark

I would suggest finding an adapter that mounts the light to the magazine floorplate or using the new one that straps around the operator's hand instead of attaching to the pistol.

Of course, there are many techniques for using a handheld flashlight with a pistol. We did it for years before these new pistols had light rails.
