I have the DVD, it's a promotional DVD to sell their programs. The cleaning part didnt teach me anything, pretty basic stuff unless you are completely new at cleaning guns.

I'm pretty new at cleaning guns so I thought it was worth it. I think you may have a different DVD as I saw nothing promotional about mine.

I saw a couple guys decided to attack me for simply trying to let other gun owners know about some free stuff I found in the back of several magazines. One accused me of somehow "profitting" and "spamming"
Some fuzzy math there. How exactly would I profit on the free borelight? Or the free shots in the dark DVD? This DVD above I believed was sent priority mail, so it costs about $4.10 to ship to me.

Charles once posted about the problem that this forum is becoming a place where people attack each other. I'm guilty as well I suppose. I made some sweeping statements about the democratic party once and annoyed someone. I just think it is pretty sad that someone takes the time to scour for freebies to share with others, then gets blatently attacked for it by 2 forum users, one of whom lives down the road from me.

lawrnk,

The URL's shown appear to have embedded codes used by resellers. This is common practice on the internet. I assumed that was you. In hind sight, I didn't think that you may have found these on the internet, with someone else's reseller codes embedded. That was error on my part.

If these are reseller / affiliate ID's, someone is profiting from any sales / future sales made by anyone who goes to that site via those URL's, but it isn't you.

My bad, I was wrong, my assumption about who gained from this was incorrect. Please accept my sincere apologies.

Best Regards and thanks for posting information others can use.

Thanks, no hard feelings. I guess those links were the examples of what the DVD included and how much it normally sells for. I certainly didn't expect anyone to buy them with those links when they can call and get it free. Thanks for posting.

Since everything was ordered by telephone by mentioning magazine ads and the only URLs were to look at what you were thinking of getting I fail to see how embedded codes would help. I also went to the website and hunted for the same products and came up with the same URLs so I doubt there are any embedded codes.

Personally I am glad to have someone point out bargains to me.

Anything after the '?' can be used for a number of purposes, one of the most common is embedded codes. I have been a reseller myself and used this technique. It is very common. Obviously they were used differently in this case. I was wrong. I apologized and will do so again. I'm sorry. I jumped to a conclusion w/o doing my homework. It won't happen again..... lawrnk was just helping us all with interesting and useful stuff he had found in his research.

Thanks,

Thanks Grillking. I think we are all clear on everything. I did email Lucky45 about the thread he started, he read it and never responded. I'll ask around about where might be the most appropriate place to post gun related freebies in the future.
