With our Son off to the Academy, I'm left here twiddling my thumbs without a regular shooting buddy. The husband doesn't mind hitting the range a couple times a year, but.....
Is there anyone else in the El Paso area that would like to get together some weekend for a bit of plinking? (or on an evening, if you have access to the indoor community college range?)

All guns have at least two safeties. One's digital, one's cognitive. In other words - keep the digit off the trigger until ready to fire, and THINK. Some guns also have mechanical safeties on top of those. But if the first two don't work, the mechanical ones aren't guaranteed. - me

We have a couple other shooters in our small church, but we have a hard time coordinating schedules during the week to be able to shoot much together. Same with the folks I know in the Guard.
I do have an open invitation on my blog to any women in the area who've never had a chance to shoot before... but no takers, yet.
And, while I do enjoy teaching newcomers, I'd kind of like to find another shooting buddy who knows at least as much if not a great deal more than I do about the topic! I like learning, too!
(Can you tell I'm already missing our son?

A little more work, but I suggest you start a women's shooting club with regular meetings at the range, say the second Saturday of each month. You get to know the people and after a short while, people will start scheduling around the meeting time. I would think most ranges would be happy to help get a club like that started.
Realizing what I typed, I presumed too much. There is no need for the club to be women only. You could open it to everyone. I support the idea of trying to get more women involved in recreational shooting, so I put it forward from that point. You may want both genders to get more shooters.
