Need to find a good gunstore around Allen.

Post by AFJailor »

My sister wants to get her husband a handgun and i told her i would help her figure out a good dependable and reasonably priced firearm.

I have created a short list and I'm hoping you guys can help with the decision.

Kimber custom II
STI Spartan
Springfield Mil-Spec Stainless 1911
Charles Daly Empire EFS
Taurus PT1911
Sig P250
S&W M&P45

He has a bunch of hunting rifles and a glock 9mm, so i'm leaning towards the springer Mil-spec atm, so he has a little diversity in his collection. Anything u guys can add to this list, or advice on which would be a better choice would be appreciated.

Also anyone know of a good gunstore around Allen where should could go purchase the weapon? She doesnt know a whole lot about them so i want to make sure no one tries to cheat her.

Paul, a member here, and I have an FFL. We would be happy to help you, and we operate in The Colony. PM me if you would like.

I would suggest a trip to The Bullet Trap in Plano where he can rent most of these to try them out before buying.

I am not suggesting that he buy them there just try them out first.

I personally LOVE my Kimber Custom II, but if economics is an issue, the Rock Island Armory 1911s are about best bang for the buck available. Look at the tatical models.
Reasonable gun control is hitting your target with the first shot.

I'll have Sig 250's in early next week (about the 19th) if you'd like to take a look at them. They'll be real hard to find till after Shot Show otherwise. I'm a 'kitchen table' dealer in north Frisco. I've also got a pretty good inventory of other Sigs at the moment.

Thanks!

Nothing in Allen. Bullet Trap in Plano is closest.

I would go to Market Hall Gun Show Saturday after T-Day.
