Maybe this is a dumb question...

Post by AFJailor »

I was looking at Kimbers website and I was wondering...what exactly is the difference between the Custom II and the TLE II? Maybe I am missing something but they seem very very similar save for the fact that the TLE is several hundred dollars more.

There is no such thing as a dumb question...

But to be brutally honest, I do not own a Kimber...But there are a few here that do...

I'm sure there will be a "real" answer come along here soon...

Are there some linkable feature pages on both models that we can put side-by-side to compare...

Maybe its something you haven't seen...The more eyes you put on it the better I figure...

Sometimes differences can pop out at you at the darndest moments...

Somebody'll come along soon...

Sure there is. The number one, on topic dumb question is
Is this thing loaded?
I don't know about the price difference in Kimbers except the TLE looks cooler. Sometimes, that's all it takes.

The difference is the TLE II has Frontstrap checkering (30 LPI) and Meprolight Tritium 3-dot night, fixed Sights.

While the Custom II does not have Frontstrap checkering and it has Fixed low profile Sights.

Other than that it is the same.

If you click the "View Specifications" link at the bottom of any of the product pages, you can directly compare any number of Kimber models.

promotional costs

Post by texasag93 »

They had to "give" a bunch to the LA SWAT.

Marketing costs going directly to the additional costs.

Lucky for them, the gun is 45 ACP and not the evil, dredded 1/20 inch larger 50 cal.

After doing a little research the only difference between the two is that the TLE has the 30 lpi frontstrap checkering, I guess i thought for the price difference there would be more differences.

Yeah there is, when the attorney, during the OJ trial, was questioning Kato Kaylin about what time he heard the thump, the attorney asked "And how many times a day do you look at the clock Mr. Kaylin?"

That, to me, defines dumb question.

Of course, Kato, non-plussed, answered "sixteen" which becomes a defining non-sequitur.

The differences between the two guns are "features" and if they are something you desire, they become benefits and thus worth the proce difference.
