California ammunition background checks declared unconstitutional by US appeals court

The SCOTUS decision in NYSRPA v. Bruen has spawned numerous 2A cases. This justifies the creation of this new forum.

California ammunition background checks declared unconstitutional by US appeals court

Post by puma guy »

In a 2-1 vote the 9th Circuit Court of Appeal ruled California's regime for ammunition background checks unconstitutional upholding a lower court judge's permanent injunction. We'll have to wait and see if California moves for further appeals, such as an en blanc decision, which is probably a crap shoot for our side given the 9th Circuit's record. However, I can't see them winning at the SCOTUS lever considering Bruen. There are no historical precedents for any such crazy requirements. The dissenting judge didn't think the rule was heavy handed. Yeah, that judge probably thinks Brian Malinowski got what he deserved.
