But that's just common sense.
Which is what the State Fair of Texas did for 25 years until 2023...
4/13/1996 Completed CHL Class, 4/16/1996 Fingerprints, Affidavits, and Application Mailed, 10/4/1996 Received CHL, renewed 1998, 2002, 2006, 2011, 2016...). "ATF... Uhhh...heh...heh....Alcohol, tobacco, and GUNS!! Cool!!!!"

Unrelated but when I did go to the Fair, I always took the DART rail as I hated the parking around there, it was cheaper, and it was just convenient as it drops you off in front of the Fair grounds. I refuse to go to a lot of places unarmed, especially events like this where predators are looking for easy victims.

The unrelated story below is regarding a man killed Monday night riding DART home from Deep Ellum (another place I refuse to go unarmed and won't venture to once it gets dark) after celebrating his birthday. I've happened to have been served by Daniel a few times and as recently as last month. Nice enough guy, just heartbreaking how it went down.

Edit. Daniel was a bartender and GM at a restaurant in Irving that I've been going to since the late 90's.

Tried to get this fixed in the 2025 Legislature, but the big money dudes from the Houston livestock show and some others tried to get additional "gun free zones" designated in exchange for the State Fair. Need more "real" gun friendly legislators in the State Senate.

The 2025 State Fair of Texas welcomed an estimated two million people in its 24-day run. That’s about 385,000 visitors less than last year, according to the numbers released by fair leaders when the fair ended.

Wonder if those are numbers are unique visitors or does it just count who entered daily regardless if they went once or every day?

I'm betting daily numbers regardless if they had visited previously this year. I can't think of how they would track unique visitors without some sort of badge or log in.

Pretty mad about the current state of concealed carry at The Fair. I had plenty of chances to have gone multiple times this year but simply didn't feel safe. There were a couple of music acts I wanted to see plus I love going for the food and the auto show.

They sell one day tickets plus season passes. They could add them up and it would be a closer estimate of total distinct visitors. It would only be off by the number of people who bought two separate one day tickets but not a season pass. And they might be able to track that data for the tickets purchased on-line instead of at the gate.
