I put the wrong Form number I meant Form 4. I have called several gun shops and vendors regarding the injunction banning the Form 4 registration and all but one said the Form 4 is still required. The one that honors the injunction requires just a 4473 form completion. One local shop said they weren't part of the lawsuit and when I explained individual with membership in the plaintiff organizations are covered he told me I was mistaken. There seems to be a lot of confusion. There are way too many unanswered questions and our lovely ATF have been totally silent and have offered zero guidance to FFL’s. I can tell you that the legal advice I have followed says to wait until there is clarification. I am kind of fond of my freedom and I do not want to spend my retirement years in the federal pen so I am going to wait until things have been clarified. I am not going to jump too quickly and have to battle the ATF later. Give it some time and things will get clearer. People have waited over a year when the NFA branch was backed up to get approved, wait a few months for this to clear up.
There are a lot of people other places online calling out FFL’s for not selling on 4473’s. I say to all those people, apply for your FFL and start selling yourself, show me how it is done. I will even walk you through how you can get it. There are too many risks to play around with federal law, our govt can really ruin your life if they want to (and they have proven that). Making a few hundred or few thousand dollars while waiting for clarification is not worth the possible consequence of being wrong.
