Has anyone here been to the SHOT show? Anyone going in Feb 08?
I just found out today that I have an opportunity to go, and don't know what to expect.

Go! It is totally awesome. Steve and I went last year.
Bring very comfortable shoes. You will be on your feet a lot. A collapsible shopping cart is a great idea as you will need something to put all your freebies in. We were very fortunate in get one as a give-away. A notebook to keep track of all the great things you will see.

I thought the SHOT was only open to dealers. Does the C&R count?

Be prepared to spend a lot of time walking. Otherwise, I thought it was a blast in 2005. Like you, I found out just before the show that I had an opportunity to attend but I am so glad I did. I haven't had time to attend in the years since 2005 but I really hope to be able to make it in 2009. On some level, it's just a really BIG gunshow and you'll need the entire weekend to see it all. The difference is, you don't get to buy guns unless you are a retailer/FFL holder and you have the unusual opportunity to interact with people who can directly influence the products brought to the market. In 2005, I met a number of celebrities I simply did not expect to meet. Do expect to meet a number of prominent manufactures and industry professionals.
