Has anyone had hands on expierience with the Kel Tec PF9? Is it reliable? I am thinking of it as a BUG or for deep concealment. Please limit replys to expierience with the PF9, the other models available have had sufficent discussion time here.

Re: Kel Tec PF9
I carry a PF-9 and have shot it a good bit. I've shot nothing but reloads and I've had ZERO problems with it and no jams (as of yet). I have two KelTec P-11s also (one for my wife) but I really like the thin frame on the PF9 so I carry it all the time now. Gun Tests gave it a crappy review but I lost my confidence in that publication a while ago and won't be renewing it. Shooting Times and The American Rifleman both gave it good reviews. Is it a Glock or Sig? No, but it's a good close quarters gun and you can buy two PF9s for the same price as a Glock or Sig. Don't get me wrong, when it comes to my safety I'm not going to bargain with that but as I said, I've never had any problems with any of my KelTecs.

Re: Kel Tec PF9
I recently spent a lot of time reading at http://www.ktog.org about the PF-9.
As usual with Kel-tec, there were some issues early on related to the barrel, I think.
It seems like they were identifying the PF-9's revisions by letter and they were up to F or G.
Suggest you visit there and read some of the comments for yourself.

I have been happy with my PF 9. They are good guns for money.

Re: Kel Tec PF9
I bought a used one but it was the one before the latest generation. The pin holding the ejector was already showing signs of "ejector pin walk". The KTOG forum will tell you all about ejector pin walk. I also had issues with the magazine release. I sent the PF-9 to Keltec and they will fix all the issues. Even though their website says the warranty is only for the original owner, the word on the forums is that they never ask. When I contacted them about the issues I was having, they told me to send it in. No questions asked. I don't have the pistol back yet but from what I've read, you pretty much get a whole new pistol with the same serial number. That's about it for "issues".
The pistol is really light. The size is rather large for a pocket gun but most of it depends on the size of your pockets and how tight or loose you wear your pants. It's not my primary carry pistol because I'm not accurate with it. I may be asking too much from a concealed carry pistol since it's accurate enough for point shooting under 15 feet. Being so light, I find it hard to hold it steady. Fifty rounds at the range is just a bit short of brutal. However, it's easier to shoot than the smaller Keltec P3AT. Still, it's not a range gun. I seem to be able to shoot it better one handed than two. I still haven't figured that out.

I wrote up a brief review when I first picked up a PF9 earlier this year. It's definitely a shoot a little, carry a lot pistol. Not a bad choice.

I echo what propellerhead and philbo said. My PF-9 has quite a lot of rounds through it and it still works just fine.
