I do know that head trauma can do weird things to a person. In many cases, it alters a person's personality and temperament towards violence. It's possible that's what happened here, if the events did in fact play out as reported. This was certainly a tragic event.Boston Medic wrote: I can offer you that there are some things which are not being reported, all in an effort to make this a more grand story. It is not my place to discuss much of it, but I can tell you this: the "accident" she was in last August was a major one, involving a 45 minute extrication of Karen from the ambulance. She had some very serious injuries as a result of that, not just "headaches" afterwards. Simple headaches do not take a paramedic off the road for 5 months (come on.....that's almost a funny assumption).

Re: Woman Killed When Couple Shoots At Each Other
Tragic event with lots of unanswered questions (that will probably remain unanswered since rarely are there followup articles with specific details unless it's a high profile trial or something like that). It's sad that there were no avenues of retreat for the husband and he felt the only action was to retrieve a gun and shoot to protect himself. Being outside it seems that he may have had a way to remove himself from the situation but who knows where he was versus where his wife was and if there was anything to use as cover, etc. I do wonder "where" he retrieved his gun from....since the shooting was in the driveway, was he carrying the gun? If not, where did he go to retrieve the gun? Again, no way to tell and things happen in a split second so who's to know. I'm NOT arguing the legalities of whether or not he had the right to protect himself once threatened versus trying to get away from the threat, just some things I was wondering about. A sad event for everyone indeed. My prayers go out to the family and friends of both the husband and the wife.

updated from the autopsyThe woman killed in an exchange of gunfire with her husband Sunday in Newbury was shot twice, authorities said today.
An autopsy showed that 38-year-old Karen Dion died after being wounded in the right thigh and the right side.
The attorney general's office said Karen Dion's husband, Gary Dion, shot and killed her after she fired a shotgun blast at him outside their house.
