ak47 front sight post

Post by tboesche »

I borrowed an AK from a buddy to shoot in an IDPA carbine match on Saturday. the problem is the front sight post is leaned slightly to the left. Does anybody know how to fix this? I searched the internet and could not find a detailed instruction on how to fix it?

The front site post screws in or out to adjust elevation. Just give the post a quarter turn so that the leans is towards the muzzle or receiver, whichever comes first. AKs aren't the most accurate rifles in the world and that quarter turn won't hurt the accuracy that much. Here's a video on their accuracy.

Edit:

If you live in the DFW area Lee's Gun Parts in Irving has a front site tool. He's located next to Big Y pawn.

Is it a Century Arms WASR-10 AK clone?

If so he might have gotten one of the "quality control failure" front sight/gas tube assembly that are not centered and the hole they drilled for the front sight is off

If not..you can get front sight posts all over the place for pretty cheap
