A few months ago while going into Higginbotham Bros Hardware and Lumber, I noticed one of the very few 30.06 signs that have seen in Brownwood. After discussions with the local managers, a public relations person and a general manager, and some time, they were finally convinced that they really didn't need the sign and were taking them down. I know that they have stores in a number of towns in Central Texas besides Brownwood so anyone that knows of a store might do some checking and maybe give them an attaboy.
Everyone that I talked to was very reasonable and not an rabid anti that was sure that guns should be eliminated everywhere. The general manager called me on the 26th with the news, but I had already noticed that the sign was down at the local store.

I don't live there but may be in Brownwood tomorrow. I might just swing by there and shake someone's hand.
