Car License Plate

Post by Geopagus »

I realize that if a LEO runs your drivers license, they will know if one is a CHL holder. However, if a LEO runs a car license plate on an individual who is the registered owner of the vehicle, will the information tell them that they are a CHL holder as well? I've never heard this ? answered before. Thanks in advance for any responses.

No. That being said, after the return on the car comes back, I can query the driver and sometimes find them in local records, from there I can get a DOB and can run the driver for warrants, at which time a CHL return would come back.

Try to do that while driving!!!

We have a policy against typing on the MDT and driving, so you know I would never do such a thing. ;-) ;-)

My car license plate says it all:

It's a TSRA plate, with my ham radio call letters - K5NRA

Darn, y'know, I was just a day late to have a similar sequential issue. Oh well, the extra $1 a year to never have to think about my plate number is still worth it.

I never have to think about mine either, it says PRO GUN, I've had this plate since 1988 and will keep it until I quit driving

Your MDT must be programmed to run a TX DL check when checking for wanted. CHL inquiries are tied to DLINQs and not TCIC/NCIC inquiries.

I get mixed reviews, a lot of folks ask..."just what does that mean" which gives me the chance to explain our rights as American citizens. This comes as quiet a shock to some folks, which I do not understand.
I lived right outside of Washington DC in Va, for a while and there the reaction was negitive for the most part, I was flipped the bird more times than I can count. Although, this might have been due to the fact that with the PRO GUN plate there was also the words..."a country boy can surrive" on the tail gate of my truck.
