My Late Christmas Present to Me
Picked up a Springfield XD Compact .45 today at Cheaper Than Dirt for $449.00. My daily carry has been the Springfield XD9SC but I have always wanted a .45. It shoots great with the same recoil as my 9mm. In fact my groups were a little tighter with it. Maybe the difference between a 3 and 4 inch barrel? I love the fact that it came with a 10 and 13 round magazine,it conceals very easily. I was surprised at the size of the hole it put in my target. This being my first .45 I could not believe the size of the bullets while they were lying next to my 9mm ones. I know it is not the fanciest gun but I am excited to carry her. Just wanted to share my joy with all of you.

Very nice gun

Re: My Late Christmas Present to Me
well thats cause the holes are bigger, thus appear closer together...bigolbigun wrote:Picked up a Springfield XD Compact .45 today at Cheaper Than Dirt for $449.00. I ended up having to do the same thing for myself; http://kd5nrh.blogspot.com/2008/01/my-l ... yself.html
You'd think that, after I got my wife a shotgun for Christmas and gave it to her two weeks early, she'd have taken the hint, but no, I want guns, I gotta go buy 'em myself.

Maybe it's the camera perspective, but that doesn't look like an XD45C in that photo. The 45C has a short grip and 10 round mag, and comes with a 13 round mag w/grip extension.
Anyhoo, $449 is a great price, so congratulations!
