THINGS TO PONDER

Post by TDDude »

Can anyone figure out why the store chain called TARGET doesn't sell anything gun related yet their billboard is an actual TARGET?

We need to change the term WALLY WALK to something else. My local wall mart doesn't even sell guns anymore and the ammo section is miniscule and the gun supply area is only half an isle.

Perhaps we can change WALLY WALK to the "ACADAMY SPORTS & OUTDOORS SHUFFLE". For all you Non-Texans, Acadamy is a great chain store with great prices on guns & hunting supplies. WALLY WALK seems to give free advertising to a store who's step I'd rather not darken anymore.

Anyone else need to ponder on this glorious Sunday morning before church?

Academy is a much nicer place to shop. I recall when I moved back to Texas from Kalifornia and I walked into Academy for the first time my nostrils detected the smells I had missed for so long. Great place to go for gun and other manly stuff.

The Wally Walk has several purposes besides just minngling with the public. You are out with the hordes. You risk bumping into them. Youare supposed to buy nachos and sit down to eat the slimy stuff and need to get up for napkins. It is essentially a first time carry obstacle course.

Academy is not the same experience. You are supposed to buy ammo on your first walk too, so a lot of Wally Worldsd will not be compatible.

I look at it as sort of a tribute also. Wally world is the only national nonsporting chain that sells ammo in almost all of its stores. While Wallyworld may be controversial to lots of people especially, the left wing, anti-gun, union loving, anti market, women libbing, anti-free market, global economy, environmentalist, Democratic Party, Ace Hardware types of folks, the fact that they offer ammo says a lot about the company and its founder Sam Walton.
I used to be able to buy ammo at Sears, Kmart, Service Merchandise and Western Auto in any of their stores anywhere in the country. Wally world is the only one left.

I still have a few cases of clay pidgeons (targets) from Target in my attic. They are branded with the store name and logo. Guess I should shoot them some day, huh? :headscratch

Try putting them on eBay first. People collect old ammo and related items.

I think the spirit of the Wally Walk can be fulfilled by combining a trip to Academy and a barbeque restaurant.

The problem with any of these places is that most of their stuff is made in China, and I've gotten to where I really don't want to support that. I'm not certain that I want to put on goggles or ear muffs made in China, and then handle a gun, after all the poisons that they've put in children's toys, flip-flops, dog food, etc. (BTW - I have multiple chemical sensitivities ... mostly organic chemicals ... so bad that they were going to give me a bull in Engineering, anyway, if I promised never to darken the halls of the Chem Dept. and took a Biology course, instead.) We went to a number of stores, before we found ear muffs at a Police store that were not made in China. So, though I love Academy, I buy there only the stuff not made in China and tell the Manager why. Same with Wally World. Anyone know of a place where they sell Made in USA stuff only? :patriot: :txflag:

Our Wally World sells both ammo and guns, though no handguns, unless you want air pistols. They do have Daisy rifles, though.

Now I know why the price of ammo has gone up so much!

Its because we are sending all our lead to China for them to paint toys with!

There is one problem with the wally world that is near me, You might really have to use your weapon at this location! Not a nice place, the shoppers are pretty scary! Not to mention the staff! Last year they had a couple of instances of BG's following women from the store to their home and then robbing them in the driveway.

At that point you might as well do a shooting range shuffle. "rlol"

Carried my new 642 at Target yesterday. And at Panera. And at the grocery store on the way home. This gun is going to be great when it gets warm.

If it will make you feel better, I took my gun into 2 Target stores today. I wandered all around and nobody even knew.
FYI, At Target the printer ink cartridges are out in the open and they (HP) are cheaper than at Wal-Mart. And I found a 100% cotton sweater on sale for $6.24. Nice day, for me! .........................., OE
