gunbroker and gunsamerica

Post by Stupid »

Does anybody actually buy anything from these 2 websites? I find their prices are sky high. I only go there to check out what the highest price is. On the contrary, I find ebay is a good place to shop and many items are just a steal (pun intended).

Many non-auction sites have much better pricing.

I have bought 2 pistols off GA, the latest being my 15 year old Browning Hi Power that was pristine!
Maybe I paid 100.00 too much for it and maybe I didn't. Bottom line is I got exactly what I was looking for.
I find GA to be fairly reasonable on guns that you can't hardly find in local shops (condition wise).
Plus I like the fact that I can shop and buy what I want without having to put up with a Gun Shop Rambo or other types of attiudes you find at practically every gun shop you go into.

I just bought a new Ruger Redhawk .45 Colt 4" in stainless through GunsAmerica for $600.

I had been seeing the 4", 44 Mags at shows for $579, but no one had the .45 Colt.

I received notice yesterday that the same revolver was available from another GA dealer for $719.

So GA has nothing to do with how good of a deal you find. It all depends on the selling dealer.

Bought and sold quite a few on GB. You have to watch for deals. A lot of sellers list the same crap at inflated prices ad nauseum but look for stuff in the wrong category, misspelled, ending at odd times, etc. Same as Ebay. Look for local stuff to maybe avoid shipping and FFL fees.

I have bought guns off GA, Auction Arms, and GB. I had togo after one seller for a pistol he never shipped after he cashed the MO but it really was a mistake and he corrected it to my satisfaction to not risk a bad feedback.

Buyere beware. You pays your money you takes your chances.

I've used Gunbroker many times. Auction sites like these are good if you're looking for something that's not usually carried by your local shop.
