Blackhawk Serpa, I have a few Questions

Post by Texasdoc »

I am thinking of getting one, I was wondering as the holster secures the gun by the trigger guard what is the wear in the frame of a Aluminum gun like a Pro Carry 2. now for my 2nd question does anyone here have on for a 4" 1911 and how do you like it ? now for the 3rd question how is there paddle vs belt for comfort and security of the gun?

Thanks in advance for all the help.

I've got 2 Blackhawk Serpa holsters. 1 for the 1911 and 1 for the Glock. I get a little polish on the 1911 trigger guard. It comes primarily from holstering the pistol. I suppose you could hold down the release when holstering to keep it from rubbing.

I have a blackhawk serpa for my glock md22. I love it! I used the paddle forever but one hot summer day thought I would try the belt mount and I won't ever use the paddle again, it is so much better. Can't help you on the other 2 questions. (by the way mine came with paddle and belt mount) I carry with tee shirt tucked in and a button shirt not tucked covering my glock, never had any problems. If I leave the house I am carrying.

I use the Serpa for a Taurus 1911. I find it handy and well made. I like the draw forcing people to keep fingers out of trigger guards and am recommending them for the agency as the issued holster for that reason.

I am not allowed to use a paddle holster, so I can't help on that one. I don't notice the holster on the belt slide anymore, so I guess you could say it is comfortable.
