just wanted to give an update on this gun.
now have over 900 rounds through it and i really like it. yes, i know some of you don't like 1911's but it's what i choose to carry so let's not have another fire storm about it, please.
one thing i've found is that this gun does require a very firm grip. once i realized that all the problems went away; well, all but the cost of ammo which has gotten outrageous even at wal mart.
my former carry gun was a g23. i still take it to the range and like it very well but for me this one carries much better. see, i'm not just a 1911 crazy. just gun crazy.

Glad to hear that you have worked through the issues. I have the Ultra Covert II and followed the Kimber break in procedures suggested. In the first 200 rounds fired I had 2 or 3 stove pipes. During my break in period I was shooting the cheap stuff so the ammo could have had something to do with the failures. I have shot over 1000 rounds without a FTF or any other problem since. Handguns like many mechanical devices work better after a break in period, fact of life like it or not. I could not be more pleased with my Kimbers accuracy and dependability. I too am a gun nut and have several other handguns. I enjoy my M&P 45 but it's not as accurate as my Ultra Covert, at least in my hands.
