Raising the CHL Populace

Post by Rokyudai »

I will keep this brief because quite frankly I feel like celebrating... :txflag:

A good friend and coworker whom I have had many discussions with on RKBA, self defense, and the enjoyment of sport shooting will be taking his CHL course tomorrow! Today he informed me that usually after our ongoing discussions, he would talk to his neighbors about issues of safety and the like. He floored me when he told me THEY have all expressed interest in CHL as well. In fact, ALL 5 (4 male and 1 female) are taking the class tomorrow! :woohoo

I don't mean to sound full of muh' self...but dang that's some good encouragement!

I hope Wal-mart has a fresh vat of that orange stuff for those nachos! He really laughed his rear off when I initiated the idea of the wally walk! He's up for it!

Just doing my part to bring folks to the light! "Ah, yes-suh'. The revrund' is gonna healya' . I say! " :biggrinjester:

That's very encouraging. :clapping:

From a post I wrote in the "New CHL sign" thread about a month ago:
NcongruNt wrote: Yup. I took a good friend shooting the other day, and we got around to handguns, I drew and cleared my carry gun and moved my 2 spare mags to my pocket to make room for practice mags and ammo. He noticed my Gold Dots and asked what they were for. "That's my carry ammo", I replied. He looked surprised and asked "Is this how you roll?". I replied "every time you've seen me for quite a long time". He was taken aback that I had that much stuff on me and had never noticed.
This guy told me a few days ago that he's working on scheduling a CHL class, and is going to buy himself a new Kimber. I won't claim full responsibility, but I believe I had a substantial hand in influencing his decision.

Ah cool

http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/48000.html
Population of TX 23,507,783...minus those of us 250K with our CHL, only leaves you a little over 23.5 million to go!

Good job...bigger the numbers for the good guys the better!

Is that the current approximate number of Texas CHLs out there, 250K? I was going to post a thread asking that question tonight.

It is difficult to advocate for an activity whose practitioners are required to conceal the activity and it is unwise for them advertise the fact that they do.
It can happen here.

I respect your opinion Frost...but,

The TSRA and NRA seem to advocate for many things like an individual's right to own and legally carry handguns without the need to hide in the shadows and there are probably more than 4 million members strong that would agree. I too believe the actual manner of carrying concealed should be carefully considered, however, one's decision to support RKBA is inherent.

DANGIT! How come my first female interested is right handed, but left eye dominant? HELP!

The 2 males went off without a hitch and the other female was a no show. I'll work on her again later.
