Awesome. My daughter has taken the class and my wife has just started shooting a 22. She wants to work her way up to a bigger caliber. My other daughter has started and wants to take CHL with my wife. It is great!...though ammo is a bit more expensive with 4 shooting, lol.

The NRA/TSRA focus on legislation and while there is room for improvement that is a fight that we have largely won. The problem I see is that that the vast majority of people are unaware/uninterested in CHLs and we have the aforementioned difficulties in advocating for it.Rokyudai wrote:I respect your opinion Frost...but,
The TSRA and NRA seem to advocate for many things like an individual's right to own and legally carry handguns without the need to hide in the shadows and there are probably more than 4 million members strong that would agree. I too believe the actual manner of carrying concealed should be carefully considered, however, one's decision to support RKBA is inherent.
It can happen here.

Re: Raising the CHL Populace
Over the last six months or so we (the ever present "we") have arranged a few classes to be held at our church building with predominately our members in attendance.
To date we have about 20 new CHLs (or in the system) at our congreation.
Got to get another class in the works and try to get the stragglers.
If everyone that has a known CHL at our congregation would carry on a given Sunday we could have a 1to 40 or better ratio. Not bad for a larger congregation. Alas, not everyone is still convinced they need to carry in a house of worship, or everyday, or on our side of town, etc.
I'll keep working on them.

The outlaw biker gangs used to have a 1% sign on their vest. The sign would represent that 1% of all bikers were outlaw gangs. Perhaps as sign among the 1& of the chl holders in the state we ought to do something similar.. kind of a secret handshake! LOL

Frost,
I know what you mean now. We just have to keep winning hearts and minds (as the saying goes) a few at a time.
