failed to think

Post by Venus Pax »

This morning, I got up and walked the dog in our apartment complex. There's a nice trail by the lake where families and elderly walk, and it's a perfect place for my little guy to get his exercise and attend to his business.

I didn't bother to bring my gun, as I figured I wouldn't be gone long anyway. :nono:

When I had nearly made the loop, Mars was hollering at me from his wheelchair for me to hurring and come back. I made my way back, and he wheeled back in the apt and asked me to lock the door. Apparently, three unmarked police cars entered the complex, and went to a nearby building to issue a warrant. The guy didn't care to go, so he climbed down from his third floor balcony and started running, and the chase was on.

Mars was worried that I could have been taken hostage, and knew I would have a more difficult time without my gun. Even though my gun wasn't far away, you usually don't have time to run home and get it when you need it NOW, especially with a miniature schnauzer in tow that likes to sniff everything along the way.
This was unwise on my part; thought I'd share my lesson as a reminder.

I am glad that everything turned out ok. It is a great reminder to all of us that we should carry all the time. Because we never know what can happen around us. Thanks for sharing.

I'm just glad that you are both OK. Did they catch the guy?

Glad that you're okay. Do you know the status on the guy being served the warrant; was he caught?

I know what you mean about the WAKE-UP CALL.... I would have never thought some IDIOT would have blocked the fast lane of a VERY busy 4 lane hwy during rush hour and try to enter my truck either. Remember that story PAX?

DONT LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT !!!!!!!! :nono:

The dog and I went out prepared this morning. Criminals don't exactly call and make an appointment first.

Thanks for the reminder.

This morning my girlfriends room mates dog had to be taken out and i decided to go out with my girlfriend and just barely decided to take along my carry weapon.

Although it was a nice day out and no one around, your experience reminds us all that anything can happen.
