Tomball Pawn

I met an individual while at hotwells shooting range. I think he had a FN rifle if I remember correctly. When I asked where he made his purchase he mentioned Tomball Pawn, and boasted how they had the best prices in town.

Can anybody verify this? Has anybody shopped for any firearms from them? I tried calling them twice to see if I can get a price check for a FN five seven, but no body answers.

Please let me know your experiences with this place because I have tirelessly looked for a fair priced local firearms dealer in the Houston area, and still have not found one.

I can! I have bought two handguns and two shotguns from Tomball Pawn (all new) I did quite of bit research on price and they were the lowest hands down. Their prices are even better than others on the internet.

I bought a Springfield Armory XD from them last year. At that time, I checked Academy, Carter's World, Gander Mountain, Jim Pruett's and found that Tomball has the best price. I have spoke to a few gun shop owners who said they can't even come close to Tomball Pawn's pricing on the XD. However, recently when I called to check on a HK USPc 45, their price was not that competitive. So I guess it depends on the brand and model.

Call them for a price check is a good idea. That's what I do everytime I am researching on a firearm purchase. I've experienced calling them and no one answer. Usually I just wait a while and call back, they can get pretty busy at the store.

Well I finally got in touch with them. They quoted me $860 for in stock FN five seven pistol and $899 if they had to order it. This is not a bad price considering they are local, but I forgot to ask if they charge 3% for using CC.

CDNN has them for 854.00. I guess I found myself a new place and finally a local one at that.

I do not think that they charge a surcharge for credit card.

Unless they changed recently, I paid for my purchase with credit card and there were no surcharge.

Tomball Pawn usually has prices comparable to gun shows and far better than other storefront dealers. There is no credit card surcharge.

They are great folks to deal with and will gladly order something for you if not in stock.

Without even thinking hard. I can come up with six handguns I've bought there.

As an added benefit, Goodson's Cafe is about 1/4 mile south of TP on 249. Great food!!

I've seen a couple of post where people ask for any local dealers with good prices, but I never saw anybody recommend Tomball pawn. I mostly saw Collector firearms, Jim Pruitt's, and Gander mountain

in addition to academy etc....I guess this was a well kept secret

, but not anymore.

Tomball has great prices and a good selection. Also, depending on what you're looking for Shiloh Shooting Range has some great deals as well. I don't know specifically about the FN, but I saw one in the gun case last time I was in.

I really like doing business with Tomball Pawn.

I can't verify this, but it would appear that they just charge cost +$25 on new firearms. They are helpful and willing to order, if needed.

Typically, this amounts to gun show pricing without admission and parking.

Unfortunately I have not had the pleasure to do any business with these folks.
I wonder why they dont show up as vendors at major gun shows?

Academy has them from time to time. I saw a .45 going for $699 a few days ago.

Tomball Pawn is always a cheap place to pick anything up.

I bought mine at Top Gun for $699, but it had rails installed, 20 rd magazine and they threw in 5 range fees ($15 a pop!). I think it was a pretty good deal.

It's a neat little gun. My kids and I have a great time plinking with mine out in the woods in Brenham.

I paid Tomball Pawn $349 for my new 642 back in March.

......I bought my first PT1911 Taurus in September at a too high price of $545. When I realized what a gem I had, I bought a second at the better price of $439. My buddy talked me out of that one and I returned to buy a third Taurus at $449.

Last I heard, that dealer (Tomball Pawn) was at $489. Most dealers are now in the $550-600 range.....

Tomball Pawn in Tomball TX does layaway. They can order anything you want and they have reasonable prices.

Champion Firearms in College Station TX has layaway and a financing plan also. They have very good prices and can get just about anything, if they don't already have one! They have a big inventory.

my daughter bought a Bersa thunder two tone there a couple of years ago new for 189.00.
since she had her CHL we were out of there and at the range to test it out in 45 minutes.

+1 on Goodsons as I'am there a couple of times a week and there 10 oz chopped steak w/mashed potatoes and cold slaw
is very good.

Years ago I used to work on the ambulance in Tomball, we could eat free at Goodson's. Blood and Gut's after a big Ol' chicken fried steak was not a good thing!
