10 things you can't say...

Post by smyrna »

Recently while waiting in a client's office for a meeting, I spotted 10 Things You Can't Say in America by Larry Elder. I picked it up and noticed one of the ten things was about gun control and I started reading. He states case after case of gun control advocates and hollywood types who HAVE permits to carry concealed or who have actually used a weapon to deter or stop a crime. He essentially makes hypocrites of them all.

If factually correct, Elder should be making those guys squirm.

Anyone familar with this book? Is it hype? True?

I don't know of the examples used in this case, but in general, yeah. It is true more often than it should be.

Larry Elder is nominally small-l libertarian, so he certainly supports gun rights.

True? He may be 100% correct but you'll never see Katie Couric announcing the hypocrites on CBS or see them on 60 Minutes.

When these hypocrites are given the sunlight they deserve they will stop being little cockroaches.

Or they'll scurry off to hide where we can forget about them.

Looks interesting. I did a search online & found it at a local library. It could make for an interesting read.
Thanks.

THE TEN THINGS YOU CAN'T SAY IN AMERICA

Elder says and proves what no one else will:

1. Blacks are more racist than whites
2. White condescension is as real as black racism
3. The media bias: it's real, it's widespread, it's destructive
4. The glass ceiling: full of holes
5. America's greatest problem: illegitimacy
6. The big lie: our healthcare crisis
7. The welfare state: helping us to death
8. Republicans vs. Democrats: maybe a dime's worth of difference
9. Vietnam II: the war on drugs, and we're losing that one too
10. Gun control advocates: good guys with blood on their hands

Elder names names, presents facts and evidence, and sets the record straight. This former attorney argues that we must all take a series of urgent steps in order to redirect American society toward moral and financial success. He offers a cohesive and practical agenda to effect change, including reforming our intrusive government.

His book looks as though it would be an interesting read.

I can't say whether everything in Mr. Elder's book is correct because I haven't seen a copy.

Senators Feinstein and Schumer have pistol permits from their states. One of Sen. Kennedy's bodyguards got in trouble with a weapon in D.C. Sarah Brady was involved in some kind of shady firearms transfer, though I don't know the details with any confidence. Rosie O'Donnell has armed bodyguards, as do innumerable other anti-RKBA celebrities.

If you search for terms like "gun control hypocrite," you'll find plenty more.

Before someone screams "racism", for those of you who don't know...Larry Elder is a black man.

I believe these are two of the many instances mentioned in the book.

If just the 5 minutes worth I read is true, I think it should be standard reading at every college and broadcast from every national newscast.

But, I'm afraid Hyunchback is right...

Shhhh...

You aren't supposed to point to black people who don't mouth the Obama party line.

Obama was the first, and only, black man to run for President and America never did anything to be proud of until that happened.

Any facts that contradict the Obama party line are to be wiped out in re-education camps as soon as His Most Royal Highness and his Anointed Queens (Michelle and Oprah) take power.

Not true. Jesse Jackson ran for president, but pulled out when he made an anti semitic remark with regards to NYC large Jewish population.

I think he was being tongue in cheek. (We also had Alan Keys run)

Larry Elder also had a good DVD called "Michael and Me" in which he refutes claims made by Michael Moore in "Bowling for Columbine." You can pick it up on Amazon.com for about 10 bucks. I recommend it.
