The new Springfield I bought last weekend has had a bit of a snag in the functionality department, and it is one I kinda had a feeling that "something" might need a little "tweeking" after I send a few hundred rounds thru it before I sat back and figured out what I want to do to "improve" a few things...
This may be a couple of things, the new mags I bought for it may need some ever so gentle, and slight "crimping" on the high side of the mag walls to allow the empties to drop a bit "free'r" than they are now...No big deal...
But while I was doing a little "test" on the loading side of the pre-range assessment, I did notice that the mags, both the one I got with the pistol and the 3 new Wilsons I want to use, was that they did have a little slop (probably about a .04-.05) in how they all seated in the mag-well...
Clunk! ugggg...
So instead of going to the range and discovering the inevitable, I went to muh guy and he said that yes, the mag catch is going to need to be raised/elevated, and that he'd of course run a reliability check on the entire gun...
And since he was in such a "giving" mood...That a set of Millett Mk I sights would help my eyes out a bit...

The sad part of the story is that this is going to take about 30 days to resolve, since my guy is backlogged on "projects" till he can say I can come by and pick up my "Sledgehammer" (this is the nickname for this Springfield)...
The irony is that I am still extremely pleased with the gun, and that even though there are some tweeks that need to be done, I know that when all that work is completed, this is going to be a nice addition to the family...
