Update: Gov. Spitzer announced his resignation around 10 a.m. Texas time, March 12.

The bad news for New York RKBA advocates is that his successor will be no better, just not as energetic.

On the first day, all news sources were reporting that he had been indicted. Then, they stopped saying that. They didn't issue retractions that I saw, and they never reported that he hasn't been indicted, they just stopped saying that he had been.

At least one report said there was a list of un-named indictees, including "Client 9".

Keith, I understand this may be common in many upper-SES marriages, but I've read/heard news reports that she is a rather smart and successful person apart from him. Not too long ago, she was regarded as a very brilliant, motivated, successful attorney in a large law firm. I'm guessing she chose to leave her profession to have more time with her family, which makes what he did to her even more upsetting, as her commitment to him came with such a cost.

I was also bothered at the sight of her standing next to him while he made that speech. I understand that many marriages survive, and some later thrive, after infidelity. That type of success points to someone with a particularly forgiving heart; however, she did not deserve the shame that she was subjected to in front of those cameras. He should have stood up like a man and made that speech by himself.

I agree completely. It is sickening to watch that and have his poor wife standing there! I tip my hat to her for supporting him although he is a scumbag, but she should not have to stand there and humiliate herself further.

Oh, I don't feel all that sorry for her. She didn't have to stand there and besides she married him!

Somehow, the old Texas wives' defense of, "Your Honor, he just needed killin' " seems to ring so much truer than these pathetic women, who appear in these mock recitations of contrition, once again being abused by heartless philanderers.

Well, I'd better just leave it at that, or I might be tempted to say what I really think!

I really think a lot of these women don't want to loose the status or money that they have by being in the place they are or married to who they are married to. Not that it is right, but they probably knew that things were going on, but weren't willing to give up the life style over it. Do you think Hillary would be where she is today had she left Bill over his indiscretion? I doubt she would have been in the limelight as much and had the pull she has.

Just my thoughts.
She won't be losing any money...Her networth will increase about 50% of what his 100% used to be...And maybe more...

It is though interesting to note that the people who cast the first stone (that believe they are without sin) are quick to point out indescretions like this about other people in that "other" party (to which I know they are not immune to)...That the political affiliation of Govenor Spitzer was not immediately hammered into the public limelight (by the Main Stream Media) until they couldn't keep that lid shut anymore...

This certainly has ramifications on the "super-delegate" count for Hillary, as he may lose his status there...Which brings about a very interesting condition for her...Does she as quietly as she can get to keep his super delegate vote for her, or does she publically denounce her wanting that vote???

He certainly reaped what he sewn...

What was even more sickining was when Spitzer announced his dirty deeds, with his wife and his Spitzer has three daughters, ages 13, 15 and 17. He should be ashamed of himself for parading his kids around like that. The hooker was only 22.
