Grip Tape

Anyone use grip tape on their guns? If so, what and how?

Sure have. Front of the grip and on the frame just below the slide - where my weak hand thumb rests. Don't know that I would do the frame again, but the grip is nice especially if it isn't already checkered.

I put it on the front strap, bottom of the trigger gaurd and on the slide stop so I can consistantly part my support hand thumb in the same spot.

Got mine from a place I used to work, but any "anti-skid" tape with a good adhesive would work for you.

I get mine @ Home Depot and use it on my poly frame handguns: side panels and the underside of the trigger guard.

Yep. On the "grip panels", front strap, thumb rest indentations, under the trigger guard and a small rectangle below the take down lever (as a tactile reference for my support hand thumb) on my Springfield XD's. It really makes a difference during the hot weather months..hard plastic can be slippery when damp with perspiration, even if it's checkered.

My "grip tape" is actually skate board tape from Academy that I cut with a homemade template. $5.00 worth of skateboard tape will last a l-o-n-g time!

I love grip tape.

It is tough to beat trugrip IMO. I have it on my Glock 34 and absolutely love it.

I have seen a few local XD owners used the skate board tape from Academy. The texture of the tape actually provides a very good grip. I did not realize I need it until I was at the range this afternoon, it was a bit warm and my palm got sweaty and was loosing my grip. I'm getting the tape from Academy tomorrow.

I have found two different kinds at HD. You can by pre-cut stair tread tape for a couple dollars and it is the perfect width for the front stap of my EMP. I mjust have to cut 1 strip in to several shorter pieces. They also have it in in rolls and sheets that have the grit clear coated over, but not slippery, and it seems less likely to cause holster damage. JMHO.

Common Sense / Rights of Man : Is probably my favorite of these. But, the founding fathers were all men who possessed the first.... and who well understood/practiced the latter.

IMO, both have become a rarity these days.
