Changing my address...Know this is covered, but...

Post by milkcartonkid »

Here is the problem i have run into. While i was awaiting the arrival of my CHL i moved over 30 days ago. I changed my dl but thought that changing my chl before i received it would further set back my app so, now i have my chl and i went on to the site and updated my address info. Is that all i have to do or have i totally screwed up and now they are just waiting to suspend/revoke me?

Call the CHL girls and ask them. It is necessary to change the CHL just after the DL and as soon after moving as possible. I did it after the first night in my new place. Changed DL and CHL the same day. You should be good since the CHL was not issued but, I don't work for DPS so what do I know. This seems to me a case of thinking to much on your part. That isn't a slam, just that I think it is better to risk a delay so we don't run into issues like this. I think you will be fine. You may need to call them and tell them your understanding about when to change the CHL might have been wrong and see if they will work with you. They are good about that and most likely have had this same issue several times before.

I was in the same boat. I moved while waiting for the license. I called and the lady told me she'll pull my application and update it right there. Unfortunately, when she did this it showed it had been mailed out to me that day.
