I generally go for parts, FTF deals and see what AJC has used. Buy some jerky, fondle some guns and go home. You will get much better deals on new stuff from a friendly FFL or internet. Actually found a 6" 1911 slide in brand new looking condition for $175 and is being built on an Essex frame now. Have been looking for a couple years for a bare slide.

Went to the show and only ended up getting some cheap refills. They had the gun I wanted at a decent price at AJC, but figured I should wait a bit since my wife said she may be willing to trade hers instead of mine. I've never been to the show in Houston, but I can imagine it's bigger. Are there more vendors there, or are the booths and selection just bigger?

It was probably 3 times bigger, with 2 or 3 times as many vendors/booths. The crummy thing is parking is costly at reliant.

This weekend's show is at George R. Brown, not Reliant.

Parking can usually be found for $7, but you may have to walk quite a distance.

There are more vendors and therefore more competition on pricing.

Isn't there free street parking on Sunday or is that only near churches?
We're here. With gear. Get used to it.

There is free street parking downtown in the evening on weekdays and all day on weekends and holidays.

At least one member here has posted about finding free parking.

Personally, I have never seen any free parking around GRB.

For me, I couldn't enjoy the show is I was worried about my vehicle being towed while inside.

There is free parking on the street, not in the lots. Be careful parking on the street by the stadium, cant park there on game days.
