My wife has the XD-9. She was originally looking at G19s but found the same awkward feeling in the grip as I do. Then she tried the XD-9 on for size and loves it and we never had a single issue with it. I looked at the XD-9 sc and i really like it, but it does seem a little blocky for me. The ergos suits me well but I think I like the slightly slimmer G26 and M&P9.

The first thing most people who buy a Glock 26 do is add a mag extension for their pinkie finger, making the grip the same length as the 19. Then the only advantage is the Glock 26 is one-half-inch shorter than the 19, for which you pay a significant price in ballistic energy drop.
I got to thinking about this.......and I have to disagree. The 19 and 26 are both fine weapons with individual roles. Sorry for the blurry pictures, but I believe they demonstrate the size difference.

A Walther? C'mon "rlol"

It would appear from the photos I have misconceived the size issue between the 19 and the 26. Back to the gun shop. :banghead:

I have the entire glock 9mm collection except for the 17L. I would be more than happy to let you shoot any of them if you are ever in the area. Take care.

Thanks for the kind offer, jbirds. But I never borrow or use anything that does not belong to me. Learned that the hard way. But you have caused me to reconsider the Glock 26 in lieu of a 99c or the new lightweight seven and eight shot S&W Night Guards. Thanks again.
