New member saying hello
Good morning everyone. I've been browsing awhile trying to get to know the site. It looks like you have a great site here. I'm finally getting around to taking my CHL class this Saturday after intending to for several years. I bought a new Glock 30 just for the occasion. I've already gotten some good information just by browsing the site, thanks for the informative posts. Hope to get to know everyone better.

Howdy and welcome!
You mentioned that you just bought a Glock 30 for the class... have you taken it out and test fired it a few hundred times? I would suggest that you do that just to make sure that you don't have any problems on Saturday. Your class isn't the time to find out you have a problem with your sidearm.
Glocks have a GREAT reputation, but everyone produces a lemon now and then.

Welcome. I agree with the above. Definitely get some range time with your G30 before the class.
If you're local range gives classes ask them for a copy of the course of fire that will be used in the class, get a target like those used in the class and run it once or twice before the moment of truth comes.

thanks everybody
Thanks for the warm welcome. I've put a few rounds through the new Glock and I'm pretty comfortably with it. I made the new gun on a hunting trip mistake once after I bought my Beretta Xtreema 3.5, so I knew better. I'm going to take my trusty old Glock 17 with me to take the class. I've had it for 7 years and it's had about 10,000 rounds through it, if not more. I tried to keep track for awhile, but then I lost count. But from what I hear about "the wait", I'll have plenty of time to put rounds through my new Glock between my class and actually getting my license. Everyone take care and stay safe, I'll let you all know how the class went.

Hey, WNallG30! Welcome to the CHL place! There are mostly men...and a few scattered women here. I'm one of the ladies.
The "practical" part of the test is easy and certainly nothing to stress over — but you DO need to get familiar with your new pistol, for sure! Caress, fondle, insert the magazine (being sure to tap it), rack and dry fire.... Now, if ya' happen to be at a range, then, the practice will be even MORE fun!
You have the Beretta Xtreema? WOW! What's the price range on that? (Didn't find it on their site) I enjoyed the video used to introduce it. Simply MUST get back to sporting clays!
I'm sort of sporatic here because I stay pretty busy with life in general. Glad that you discovered the forum because it's a GREAT resource!
