What kind of holster are you using for the LCP?

heh... 3, now that I think of it. camelbak Goblin for running, 5.11 holster shirt for riding the bike (might change with summer coming), and a modified cheapo Uncle Mike's IWB. I bought the IWB originally for my xd-subbie. didn't really like it, relegated it to the holster drawer. but, for the LCP I only needed to trim it to fit, and add a bit of stitching. now works pretty well as a pocket holster since the outside is a tacky felt material that keeps it in the pocket while drawing. it's a bit small, though and permits the LCP to settle at an angle in the pocket. I've seen a number of positive posts about the DeSantis Nemesis. that one seems sized a bit better to keep the LCP upright in the pocket. might try that down the road.

Uncle Mike's sells a decent little pocket holster that breaks up the outline pretty good. It's cheap and it has always worked out fine with my Keltec P32. It fits the LCP just fine, so I gave it to my kid when I gave him the LCP.

so I had my first experience being 'outed' while out on a mountainbike ride yesterday. myself and a couple guys had just finished a section and were waiting up for the rest to catch up. I leaned over the handlebars, and 'thunk'. out falls my LCP. apparently it had shifted during the ride and the velcro tabs were not securing it any longer. likely my fault for not making sure the velcro was properly matched up after holstering. ...anyway, the guys with me (of at the time unknown RKBA status) just kinda watched it for a sec. 'woops' I pick it up and re-holster with a small grin '..never know what kind of critters you might run into out here'. one of the guys says 'is that a little .22 ? niiice.' the other guy is pretty much nonplussed. we continue the ride as if nothing happened. :thumbs2:

Okay, I admit it. I'm jealous. I've been on the LCP waiting list at Tomball Pawn for 3 weeks. Come on LCP. The cash is in my pocket, and it wants to purchase an LCP.

Waiting...

Patiently waiting... :totap:

Okay, so I wasn't patiently waiting.

When I read this thread, I decided to call Academy here in Houston. I located 4 stores each with a single LCP in stock (according to one stores computer inventory). I called the 1st store, and they had already sold their LCP. I called the 2nd store, and they had a current customer looking at the LCP. I asked them to keep me on the line in case the customer decided against the purchase. Meantime, I phoned the 3rd store on my cell phone, and they sold theirs just a few minutes earlier. The 2nd store returned to the phone and said the customer decided to buy the pistol.

I called the last store, in Sugarland, and they said one had just arrived on the delivery truck which had yet to be unloaded. I gave them my name to hold the LCP, drove down to the store and bought it.

By the time I arrived at the store, the salesman said there had been 3 additional calls after mine inquiring about the LCP. There was a 4th 'customer' on the phone telling the salesman if they did not sell him the LCP he was going to call the corporate office, and he accused the salesman of selling the LCP to his buddies as soon as they arrived.

Well, so much for my patiently waiting...

Now, I need to call Tomball Pawn and have my name taken off the waiting list.

I got mine at the gun show this past weekend. There were only two at the show, and I got mine for $375 out the door (private seller, cash sale); the other was priced at $389. I was also on the list at Tex-Guns (located at Manchaca, just north of Stassney), and when I put myself on the list, there were only two people ahead of me. I just called and took myself off the list, so there may be a relatively short list still there. You may be able to snag one if you show up early enough at the show in San Antonio next weekend (May 31st - June 1st).

I had suggested here on the forums that people check with Cost Plus 10 on Burnet Ln, but when I went in there to inquire about them, he said that he is not going to be getting them, as he's closing down in July.

As suggested above, you can check with Academy on a frequent basis and snag one there. They are decent to deal with for a big box store, and my experience is that they are happy to deal with CHLs because it cuts out the phone call work for doing a NICS check along with your 4473. Last I knew, they were going for $289 there.

Currently, I'm carrying mine as a BUG in my 5.11 Holster shirt. I'm trying to figure out where in Austin I can find a pocket holster for mine, as I can't wear this shirt every day forever.

Anyone know of any places in Austin that carry the Uncle Mike's Pocket Holster #1 or something similar?

I'd like to have one, but I'm not in such a rush that I would pay MSRP + 15-20%.

Production will catch up in a few months, and then they'll be everywhere. Just like New Volkswagens and iPhones. ;-)

I picked a LCP up at Collectors firearms this morning for $309out the door. I saw one of their employees at Top Gun range last night and he told me they were out. Well me and the wife unit were picking up some specialty pellets and they took delivery of one and i worked a deal. Off to the range where it flawlessly ate 50 WWB and 10 WGolden Sabres.I have found my new pocket gun and BUG :fire {MY WIFE THINKS IT IS CUTE AND HAS ANNOUNCED INTENT OF THEFT]
I used to think my dad was wrong about everything but as I get older I realize that he was dead on

I had no idea these were so hard to come by. I just bought one a couple days ago from another member of this forum in a FTF transaction for $325 NIB. I can't wait to shoot it!! When I brought it home, my wife's eyes lit up as she asked, "So, is this my new purse gun?" Chuckling. Of course it is. I believe I may fire it a bit this evening while out at the property.
