Firearm in car without CHL

If this was brought up before, I apologize. I've been asked by various people if someone without a CHL has a gun in the car and is pulled over by a policeman, are you obligated to tell him you have a gun in the car like a CHL holder?

No, but if he asks, you have to tell the truth or decline to answer.
