CHL license question
I am going to take my CHL class in July/August and wanted to know if I should go ahead and submit my DPS application now? Or should I just take the class then to the application?

CHL class 8/17

Package mailed 8/21

Packaged received 8/25

Processing application 9/04

Application completed 11/20

License in hand 11/28

Re: CHL license question
Submitting an application without a TR-100 won't do you much good.

Welcome to the forum.
Are you referring to applying online?
The advantages of applying online are that you can pay by credit card (which is charged immediately) and get a PIN immediately.
The disadvantage of applying online is that you can make a mistake that you will have to correct later.
It's your choice.

Then you can begin your hourly status check as soon as you receive your certified mail postcard back. That way you can increase your stress and aggravation time from 30-40 days to at least 60 or more.

Re: CHL license question
do you really get your PIN immediately? how? I didn't get one that I can tell. Do they mail it to you?

Re: CHL license question
It is at the top of the completed CHL Web Application that the DPS mails to you.

I got my PIN immediately from the web site when I filled out my online app.

Re: CHL license question
well, I mailed in the "complete CHL web application" to DPS.
Oh well I guess I won't be able to check the status all the time.

Re: CHL license question
That's not necessarily a bad thing. Once you get that flippin PIN, the tendency is to check it 500 times a day.
