Benefits of Online applications vs Class appllication

Post by BigBlueDodge »

Can someone describe to me if there are any benefits of mailing in your paperwork that you received from your CHL class, or submitting an online application, and mailing the application received from Austin. I went the online route, and I noticed that all applications are not sent to the same place. The packet I received from Austin had a different mail to address, than the packet I recieved from my CHL class. Does the same group process all applications, or are there different groups that process online/regular applications?

Online packets, which are prepaid with credit card, go to one box number, and paper applications with checks go to another. They all eventually get processed by the same people, after the payment is extracted.

with online you get a pin earlier so that you can spend a few extra week checking on your status. You also get the money to the state a little earlier, they really like that. They also get to keep the money If something comes up and you don't finish the class or something else prevents you from mailing in your packet.

That's always fun ...checking multiple times a day....and getting the same result.

"Processing Application".

Then you get fed up :grumble and decide to write to Simone how you feel :rules: and then.....guess what? She decides that you need to cool off and she sends your application to the bottom of the pile.... :nono: :nono: :nono: :cryin :cryin :cryin

Go figure? :headscratch

It's a good thing I'm done with that!!! :thumbs2:

You last two guys summed it up pretty well.

BBDodge, if you do now have an "extra" packet (the one from class only), you might want to pass it all along to a friend who will use it. Or maybe return it to your instructor. DPS is reeeeeeeel slow getting packet orders shipped to instructors these days and he/she may be needing it shortly for someone else.

Maybe you should make it like a game.

Order a custom holster from <insert name of backlogged custom holster maker here> and send in your completed application on the same day.

Now just wait to see which one gets there first. Then you can say you're not carrying because you don't have your holster yet. It might make you feel better and it's always more fun aticipating some quality leather over anticipating a piece of plastic from the govt.

I'm a neat freak, I like the way the online app looks compared to my chicken scratch.
