Changing Address

Post by getusumtx »

Okay...Im still a seat holder in the waiting room, however I have a question on changing your address. I noticed you can change your address online, but after your 30 day grace period,do you have to wait for that plastic with the updated address to come in the mail to legally carry?

The language of the law requires you to notify DPS within 30 days of moving. I see nothing that says you can't continue to carry with your old license.

Since you get an updated driver license more quickly, a police officer who wanted to give you a hard time could do so; but there's no basis for prosecution.

I am still not a lawyer.
