Would the Mesquite Championship Rodeo be considered a professional sporting event?

This comes from their website:

The Mesquite Championship Rodeo ...
north Texas’ premier western family attraction

Our 51st season
Every Friday and Saturday night in 2008 (April 4th – September 27th) thousands of visitors will witness the thrills of the original western sport: the rodeo!

Mesquite Championship Rodeo is “family.
Families dominate the attendance at the rodeo and we like that. We work hard to provide an exciting place where children and adults can be safe and still get close to the action: crazy clowns, brave cowboys, talented cowgirls, fast horses and big bulls. Many of our guests are coming to see their first professional rodeo so you may see people from many nationalities and countries.

14. Is this a professional rodeo & professional cowboys?
YES, during April and May we are a PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) sanctioned rodeo and the cowboys are professional. Beginning on June 13th, Bull Riding is sanctioned by the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Discovery Tour and Barrel Racing is sanctioned by the PWRA (Professional Women’s Rodeo Association). Other events such as Team Roping and Saddle Bronc Riding are open for entry.

So...from their own description...yes, I believe it probably is.

This is on my 2009 wish list: eliminate any statutory prohibition about carry on private property.

Bars, sporting venues, and private schools should have the same property rights as any other property owner. They should be able to restrict concealed carry if they wish, but the government shouldn't assume that power.

Good example: we're baseball fans, and we're loving having our own professional baseball team. In the Continental League, teams have a salary cap of $25,000 per year. Not per player -- per team! That means that most of these guys are playing ball 6 days a week for $7-10 a day, but by golly that counts as "professional".

The Gunslingers play on the same field as the Texarkana College Bulldogs, so that field is always off limits to CHL. But it's in a city park, and Dobson Field adjoins other ball fields where Dixie Youth and other associations play, which aren't off limits at all.

Emotions run far hotter at 10-12 year old games than they do at any professional baseball game. Even if you accept that "high emotions" is a valid reason to restrict carry (I don't accept it, myself), there's no logic at telling a parent who just carried while watching a Dixie Youth game that they must disarm before walking next door to watch a college or semi-pro game.
