Well, now that I have returned from Ohio, without my new Utah license which I should have applied for a month earlier... (another story), I've decided to send my Loaded Target Springfield 1911 back home. I've pumped 700 - 800 rounds of WWB FMJ target ammo through it with narry a problem. Actually, I shot 100 rounds in Alabama and then 100 rounds in Ohio over the last two weekends and had to nudge the slide one time to seat a round.

The problem is that I have tried 5 different brands of hollow points and 3 of the five jam up against the frame ramp and go no where. What was unusual was that the "cheaper" rounds (Remington and Hornaday) fed OK, but Corbon, Spear Gold Dots, and Hydro-Shocks would not feed... Period!! Good news is that Springfield emailed a pre-paid overnight shipping label for me to use. We'll see what happens. I really like the weapon, and if sending it home will let me load self protection ammo wih confidence, it will be marvelous!!

Oh, they are replacing the mag well bevel that dropped off while my brother-in-law in Alabama was showing me how IDPC was run. NOW I'M STOKED! I may have to take my Bersa .40 out to Greenville just to get started. Sooo much better than going to Garland and going "Bang - one thousand one - Bang - one thousand one - Bang".

Springfield has a great customer service Dept. I have never had to use them but that is the reputation on the board.
Glad to see someone else name theirs too. Guys names at that. I only have one lady named firearm. Rest are gentlemen too.

I had to use them once to replace a pin in the rear sight of my 1911....they are hands down the best customer service department I have ever dealt with.

Don't feel too bad, LT, a bunch of years ago someone was talking, in a group of friends, about Stevie Nicks' latest hit, and being a hardcore country and bluegrass fan since I was a kid, I honestly asked "Who's he?"

I had to move away from the area to not hear about it anymore.

Your music & mine are the same. I would not have known who they were either.
I got egg on my face w/ a bunch of Jr high Kids once about the same way.
They all had Quicksilver T-shirts on one day. Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver is arguably my favorite Bluegrass Gospel Group. I complimented them on their taste in music at their age.
I got a blank stare & one asked me what I was talking about. I told them about Doyle Lawson. One shook his head & said, Mr. Young, Quicksilver is a performance skateboard & we had a contest at lunch today.

Those folks dont know what they are missing.

Dusty Springfield? Who, as old as me, has not heard that name? Longtooth... I shake my head... Guess my teeth are longer!!!

So, but seriously, on topic, here we are, July 6, and I have a report! FedEx tried to deliver a package on July 3. I figured it to be my repaired weapon. Yep, it was!!! I picked it up and went to the Garland, wait a second, fire a round, and wait, shooting range this morning. ...WOOHOO!! Shot Cor=Bon, Hydra-shock, and Gold Dots badda-bing, badda-boom, boom boom! What did it take?? A week, give or take???

They replaced the extractor, polished the feed ramp, reamed the barrel, modified the breech wall, and, even though it was my problem, replaced the mag well bevel that I lost in Alabama!! (I still need to get some Loctite.)

I wasted so much ammo today because it went through the same hole, sigh, oh well!

Oh, by the way... warranty! No charge!
