Beretta 9000 failing to eject spent casings
I have a Beretta 9000 in .40 that is failing to eject spent casings. When I first bought this pistol I put about 100 rounds of 180 grain full metal jacket rounds through it with no problem. I took it out today and fired the same ammo through it but it failed to eject the spent casing every few rounds. I have kept it clean and lubricated. When this started happening I cleaned it again and resumed firing but it still jammed. Has anyone ever owned one of these or had similar problems. Thank you very much.

I can't help w/ the malfunction but I will assure you someone will be able.

Re: Beretta 9000 failing to eject spent casings
We really need a little more information.
1. Did you have any "Failure to Feed" along with the "Failure to Eject"?
2. Do you use oil or gun grease on the slide?
3. When the weapon does eject the spent casings... where (and how far away) do they land?
4. Is the ammo the same type (brand/weight/etc) that you used the first outing?
5. Have you tried shooting the weapon from a "rest" (with good firm grip), this will eliminate/expose the possibility that you are "limp wristing" the weapon.
Let us know.

Re: Beretta 9000 failing to eject spent casings
thanks for your response...
I use grease on the slide and light oil everywhere else
The casing generally fly to my left side but sometimes behind and to the left and a couple of feet away
the ammo is exactly the same as before
I am positive that i have a good firm grip and that i am steady with the trigger, i also have the mag extender for better grip
no real failure to feed before, but today i had to nudge the slide slighty when i didnt give a good hard rack..everything on this pistol is very tight
Thanks so much for your response!

Then to be perfectly honest (new pistol) I'd say it just needs a "little more wink" (break-in period).
Make sure it is good and clean...lubricated properly, then go shoot it some more. It is not uncommon these days (with modern CNC machining) for tolerances to be a bit tight. Most firearms will "smooth out" with a few hundred rounds put through them. If you continue have problems after that...then we can take it step by step and see if we can solve your problem.
The Beretta is a good weapon...and my prediction is that it will start running reliably with a few more rounds down the pipe.
Keep us updated, and welcome to the forum.

Someone at the Beretta forum will get you fixed up. I don't have a 9000 but I know my Cougar really likes to be "wet" or it simply won't operate after the first 50 rounds or so. I originally found this out because I was running it too dry. I thought I had things lubed like it should but it was giving me issues like you described. After adding a couple extra drops of Miltec oil here and there it now just runs and runs and runs. Without those two or three extra drops, I was having serious issues.
Perhaps the 9000 is the same but someone over at the Beretta forum will sure be able to help you.
