A laser grip is usually a rubber wrap around a guns grip that has a pressure switch so that when the gun is held, the laser comes on.

One of the more popular versions is the crimson trace at http://www.crimsontrace.com/

Depending upon the design of the particular handgun, the original grip may be replaced entirely, as with my CT-equipped j-frame snubby. My XD-40, on the other hand, does indeed have a grip "rubber wrap around" CT as described by Kerbouchard.

Wow.

This means that I can take that unwieldy monster of a laser off of the front of my HK now.

Thanks.

I dont know about taking it off of the HK just yet. I have not seen a laser grip that has been made for the HK. I would love to get one for my HK USP 45, but so far have not been able to find one.
If anyone knows of one that fits the HK's I would like to know.
