Great delivery story!!!
So I knew today had to be the day. Plastic HAD to come today right??? I mean 130 days is a looooooooooong time! The only problem was, the mailman normally didn't get to my house until a little after 3 pm. I have to be at work at 2:30. So I was a little anxious. I had just gotten dressed for work and was headed to the door when there is a knock. I opened the door to find the mailman there smiling this HUGE grin. In his hand he was holding an envelope from DPS. He told me congratulations on the plastic and it was nice to be in the company of a fellow CHL'er. Turns out he has one as well. He was kinda griping about not being able to carry at work. We talked for about 15 minutes. And that, boss, is why I was late to work!

Re: Great delivery story!!!
is the envelope identifiable as coming from the chl department? I would prefer my mom not know I carry, she freaks out when I'm out later than 3am or when I drive faster than 60.
I gotta get out of college, and into my own place. ughhhh....... almost done lol.
oh btw, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

It's good to know DPS is actually issuing them still. I was beginning to wonder if the Texas CHL was a mass delusion and existed only in stories much the same way as Bigfoot.
Congratulations! I guess considering they received my packet about 6 weeks after yours then I'll be looking at another 6 weeks. Still no PIN as of yesterday's mail.

No it is not the actual envelope says its from Texas DPS records division or something along those lines. Just that the mailman was familiar with what the envelope and feel looks like. The only thing in there is a cardstock piece of paper with notches that hold the beloved plasticTexasComputerDude wrote:is the envelope identifiable as coming from the chl department? k6gixx,
Great story indeed. Nice to hear that the US Post Office still has that kind of service. My mail person is also always nice (not sure about the CHL though).
Welcome to the club! Congratulations on the plastic and the son. Enjoy both and stay safe.

You're still living off of your parents and you want to carry a gun?TexasComputerDude wrote:is the envelope identifiable as coming from the chl department? I would prefer my mom not know I carry, she freaks out when I'm out later than 3am or when I drive faster than 60.

Re: Great delivery story!!!
depends on the definition of living off lol, I do a lot of work around our family businesses and I don't really get paid for it. (except free rent and food. lol)
I also fix computers on the side and make a decent amount. and since my college is 80% paid for by scholarships and grants, I do alright lol
Basically it makes sense lol. I'll be out of college soon though, and hopefully moving up to either dallas or to wherever they pay me the most lol.
I only go to school 2 days a week and the other days I spend at the businesses doing whatever needs to be done.

Good for you for being a hard worker that EARNED scholarships, got grants and most of all for WORKING to help pay your way. Too many "kids" nowadays expect it all handed to them. Again, good for you and kudos on making the decision to get your CHL.
