Is there any type of documentation on the proper technique of cleaning Semi Autos? I generally field strip each one every 50 to 100 rounds (usually that's one trip to the range), hit it with S&W Brand CLP, using the cloth strips I got in a kit. I put some drops of CLP on the strips and run it through the barrel and any parts of the firing assembly I can wedge it into (e.g., over the spot where the firing pin comes out, all spots where the ammo feeds, etc.). I also put a drop on the slide rails and slide the firing assembly back and forth 10+ times. Is this really all I need to do? Should I be going any further in my cleaning? Does anyone have any cleaning techniques to share?
Thanks in advance!
