After having used them to shoot an IDPA match, as well as various little experiments around the house, I can honestly say these are a DEAL.
however, as with anything, you have absolutely GOT to understand the limitations of a $10 sticker.

here's how my IDPA match went down. basically, when my name was called as "on deck" I would take a break off to the side to collect my thoughts about the stage (which most folk do anyway) and would stick the flashlight up to my holster and "charge" the sigts. When it was my turn, I had nice big, bright dots to look at, and I *know* for a fact that this helped my accuracy, as one of the RO/SO's commented on that. Lord knows my time was pitiful :waiting:
(side note) One guy says to me, "Why do ya need night sigts fer, there's lights in here!?" so I showed him the bright green dots. his response was "Hmmm!" take that as you will...
so, I'm fixin' to shoot, sights are "charged," and I shoot the stage. by the time I'm about up again for the next stage, they have dimmed considerably, but are still visible. in a pitch black room, you'd still be able to see'em just fine.
however, I felt better going ahead and charging them up again before I shot the next stage.
so, for those purposes, as long as you don't mind being the 'tard in the corner with a flashlight up to his holster, you're golden.
for what I paid, for what they are, they are great. do they replace MeproLights? uh, no. but those things retail (for the same gun I was shooting IDPA with) at $85. not to mention you prolly need to have a GunSmith install them, too. so there's an extra $150,000 and 4-6 weeks ( :biggrinjester: I keed). but still, they are a nice little supplement.

I hope this helps, and/or is easy enough to read, I need to eat lunch :grumble (that's me chewing. while wearing blue face paint like in BraveHeart....)
FWIW, IIRC, AFAIK, FTMP, IANAL. YMMV.

I noticed on the lauer website, the duracoat people they have a luminescent sight paint that I ordered and should receive in the next day or two,I will apply the paint to a set of sights on a gun and see how thet hold up as far as brightness and longevity and if they are affected by cleaning solvents ,I payed about $24.00 shipped for 1/2 ounce of the paint
It is said that if you line up all the cars in the world end-to-end, someone would be stupid enough to try to pass them
