We usually shoot at a couple of private ranges south of Houston. I'm not familiar with any regular shoots in San Antonio. I know the Austin club has a 200 yard range and they use reduced size targets for the 300 and 600 yard. IIRC, they shoot on the first Sunday of every month. Some guys from SA come into Houston for our matches as we have the full 600 yard range.

Best bet would be to check with some clubs in your area. You will find High Power shooters are a great group and are very helpful to new shooters who want to try the sport. The folks we've met have been wonderful toward getting my daughter going in the sport.
