Pizza Hut Park in Frisco - 3006 or wands?
Hi all,
I will be attending a concert (OzzFest) at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco. I have never been there, and was wondering if anyone has any experience with the place?
Are there permanently mounted 30.06 signs? Any idea if security at concerts uses wands?

Went to a FC Dallas game last week and they had personnel at the gates with wands. Frisco PD was standing inside the secured areas and deputies were patrolling the perimeter.

Since it does have some private ownership I don't know if it would be considered a government facitlity:Prohibited Items
FC Dallas, in conjunction with Frisco law enforcement officials, is dedicated to providing a safe and secure environment in which to enjoy events at Pizza Hut Park. Police officers are stationed near each entrance gate and all persons entering the Stadium are subject to search and questioning. Full cooperation with the authorities is appreciated and will help speed the progression of the lines.
No bottles, cans, coolers, containers, food or beverages of any kind, powdered substances, televisions or professional cameras/equipment, or bags larger than 12" x 12" x 12" may be brought into Pizza Hut Park. No air horns, whistles, seat cushions with backs, fireworks, smoke bombs, slingshots, firearms, knives (including pocket knives), or any other weapons may not be brought into Pizza Hut Park. Anyone with an item that does not pass security measures will be asked to either take the item back to their vehicle or dispose of it before entering Pizza Hut Park. Purses, backpacks, fanny packs, diaper bags or any other bags may be brought into the stadium, but will be searched at the bag inspection area. Please be aware that prohibited items, policies and security parameters may be modified from event to event as security levels change.
Pizza Hut Park is the first soccer stadium to be built through a coordination of both private and public funds. Hunt Sports Group, the City of Frisco, Collin County, and the Frisco Independent School District partnered in building this new facility that features 17 championship-quality soccer fields adjacent to a 21,193 seat, state-of-the-art, soccer-specific stadium.

Re: Pizza Hut Park in Frisco - 3006 or wands?
Thanks for the info CHL/LEO. I had read that section of their website.
I understand that they don't want me to carry in there :)
But unlike the FC Dallas games, I won't be breaking the law by carrying at the concert if I'm not given effective notice.
If they use wands though, then it's a moot point. They will discover the weapon. I'll tell them I have a CHL. They will tell me "no guns inside." At that point, I'll have been given notice, and I'll go back to the car and lock it up. If I know about the wands ahead of time, I can save myself some walking :)
Although... I do wonder if they use the same security people/procedures for concerts as for the soccer games...

Re: Pizza Hut Park in Frisco - 3006 or wands?
I realize this is an old post... but I wanted to update it with the results since the Ozzfest was this weekend.
I went in at the South Gate so I can only speak for that one, but there were no 30.06 signs. Heck, there weren't any signs saying anything at all about prohibited items. There was a wand laying on the security table (half buried under all the studded belts that people had surrendered) but I didn't see any wands actually being used.
Security to get in was extremely light, but Frisco PD had a good showing inside (it looked like almost all of them were wearing vests... I bet they were really hot).
Other than being surprised by the minimal screening to get in, it was pretty much as expected. Great concert, overpriced concessions, and as always, was glad that I was carrying even though nothing happened to make my spidey-sense start tingling :)

I saw a good amout of security at the gates. They had wands and they checked all the bags. It was nice to see them pass out a sheet of paper telling you what you cannot bring into the stadium even before you get out of the car. That saved me a trip back and I took the time to eat my sandwich from Subway before I got in line.

Re: Pizza Hut Park in Frisco - 3006 or wands?
Sounds like we had very different experiences at the gates/times we went through. I did see several cops at the gate when I went through (but since they aren't there to screen people I didn't count them as "security" since I was referring to access control)... but there was only one security guy "screening" people. He wanted to see our belts to make sure they weren't the heavy studded ones. He dug through my wife's bag and was really interested in her camera, but never used the wand or really paid any attention to me at all after I lifted up my shirt (on my non-carry side) to show him my belt. And where you got something handed to you in the parking lot, my gate had no mention at all of what was prohibited. I did see (from inside looking out) that one of the other gates had the sandwich-board thing set up with what I am assuming was a list of prohibited items, but I couldnt read it from inside and with their no reentry rule I wasnt about to step out and read it.Marker wrote:I saw a good amout of security at the gates. Re: Pizza Hut Park in Frisco - 3006 or wands?
I want to thank everyone for the valuable information [/u]you gave me about Pizza Hut Park. Moving forward I will make sure that all entrances to the facility with have the proper signs and posting required to serve notice that hand guns are not allowed in this facility. I was also wanting to know if we can post similar signs at the gates to the fields to serve as warnings for anyone running on to the field. If anyone can assist me in this I would appreciate it.
PS - the belts were taken up due to data we got that they have been used in the "mosh pits" as slap parties and certain belts have studs with hinges that allow drugs to be stored in them. Every item held was returned to every person that came back for it. This was by far the best crowd we have ever had here in Frisco and it was really good to see everyone enjoying the night and the morning thanks to Metalica taking us almost to 1am.

yeah, cause barring people with excellent criminal backgrounds, and licenses, and all that is a very intelligent idea.Joya wrote:I want to thank everyone for the valuable information [/u]you gave me about Pizza Hut Park. Just remember, you allow COPS in there, and they have GUNS too.
