address change

Post by Armed-Texan »

ok i just moved 13 days ago. how long do i have to change my address on my CHL. i just changed my address on my DL yesterday and plan to stop carrying my handgun when i get my new DL. i just don't have the 25 dollars to spend on a new CHL and then turn around in 90 days and drop another 25 bux. i am living here temporarily until i can find a suitable house for my family in the next 2-3 months.

the only reason i changed my DL is to register with SBEC(for teachers and aides). i need some guidance here. and i know i would have had to change my DL later this month by law, so save that one. if i don't carry, then i don't have to update my CHL right? and i can just update it when i get a permanent address and then carry again when i get the updated plastic?

I don't think so but IANAL. Take a look at GC 411.181 and 411.187.
