I have always instructed my wife, daughter and grand children to never allow anyone to abduct them. It is better to resist in a public area where they may be noticed than to be taken away and suffer dire consequences. If the bad buy means you harm it is better to run, scream or fight. You may have some chance at survival using this mindset and none if you are abducted and taken to a second crime scene.

:iagree:

If one complies with a criminal's abduction and removal of a victim to a second location, the chances that the victim won't be badly harmed or killed is close to zero. The reason he moves the victim is because he doesn't think he can get away with what he intends to do to him or her at the original location.

Male or female.
never, Never, NEVER be taken to a 2nd crime scene.
Victim has complied once & more likely to comply again.
Criminal has received compliance & therefore emboldened to EXPECT more compliance.
Fight, resist, scream, spread arms & legs to become a wide graple for him to put through a door, under vehicle if possible, feet off the ground, be a loose sack of wet rags.

Better still be armed & learn to fight w/ your weapon. :fire

I can't help but think how easily this could have turned out different if she was just armed.

This is the time fight! Do any and everything you can...with every fiber of your being... to avoid being moved to another location.

This is NOT the time to freeze, FIGHT!

It should be plain to anyone... that the abductor is not taking you to a "Surprise Party" (or at least not one you are going like).

True but apparently she had never been taught that you can resist.

Article stated: " Surveillance camera videotape showed her being confronted at gunpoint by an unmasked man who walked her outside the store."

Walked her outside
Resistance may get you shot at the store but not repeatedly raped & then murdered anyway.
If you are unarmed, fight w/ what you have or can find.

An instructor once told me something that has stuck with me for years. I'll "summarize"
In abductions, there are two crime scenes:

(Crime Scene 1) - This is where the abduction happens
(Crime Scene 2) - This is where the other crime happens (rape, death, etc)

NEVER EVER LEAVE CRIME SCENE 1.
He talked about driving your car into a light pole or other cars, run, fight, etc. Just never ever leave the first crime scene with the abductor, no matter what. You never want to go to the second crime scene.

We can hope the prosecuter goes for the death penalty. Too bad it will be 15 years or so before he gets his. She didn't even get a day.
